What a great welcome and great honest to goodness ale house! A great go to for beer and banter. Highly recommended. If you're from north staffs the landlord would welcome you and some oatcakes.
Great little pub. Very friendly with a ‘locals’ atmosphere. I went in on my own and the landlord made me feel very welcome. Great live music. Definitely recommend
I have been here many times over the years. Nice friendly staff, Ales are currently Butcombe bitter and Butcombe Rare breeds. Ciders, Aspells and Thatchers Gold.lagers only noticed Carling.. others available.. I chatted to the friendly tenant who informed me they've just had a major cellar and beer line refit with a dedicated beerline python! I had a pint of Rare breeds, clear and delicious. They have bands on some Saturday evenings, lovely atmosphere.. I recommend this lovely small pub. Pool and darts, an open fire and a stove. You can eat local fish and chips from just down the road with a drink bought in the pub.
I just had a preview of my local pub re-opening again after around two years of being closed. They've done a really good and tasteful job of refitting it. It's the same local boozer but different. A lot more real wooden detail, it seems more spacious than it used to be. Some, but less stuff on the walls (I don't know what you call that). It looks like a really good locals and visitors pub for Lechlade. The beer is perfect. Job well done. I wish Paul and Jamie all the best for their business in the future!
A proper pub right in the heart of gastro corporate territory - areal find. Don't come expecting hot food (unless you want to go to the chippy next door) but do expect a homely welcoming pub serving excellent ale. 5 stars.
