1930s Truman pub, now Enterprise Inns. Two connecting bars, the right-hand side would have been subdivided in the past. Surviving period features, including wood panelling, leaded windows, central stillion with a glazed office, nice art deco styling above one fireplace.
Decent pub in Bermondsey - watched a few Sunday evening games there and it's always been a nice friendly atmosphere with the other locals.
Great pub. Fantastic music and atmosphere. Very welcoming to new faces and regulars equally. Great selection of gins!! The bar team are super nice. Reasonable prices. Overall The George is definitely my go to place for a relaxing fun evening.
Cozy, wonderful service and wonderful tastes in both food and drinks. The friendly staff kept the kitchen open a bit longer for us even though we were the only dining guests this Monday. Will visit again the next time we go to the UK.
The burger was super well done, must note that no one asked in advance how I would like it. When asked afterward how is the meal, I replied is too done and very dry- he replied there are no other options for cooking! My wife ordered fish and chips that had absolutely no taste. Service was slow as they were busy. The restaurent was quite nice and historic, good place to have a drink, but not food..
Proper boozer, loved visiting. Beer varied but keg rather than cask. Courage best was on, the option! However, wonderful people behind the bar and a lovely welcome to the stranger. Thank you and I encourage you to visit and enjoy the eastend
