The Gaerwen Arms Pub and restaurant has recently set on a path to establish itself as Anglesey’s most innovative quality fresh produce dining experience, spearheaded by locally-trained, dynamic head chef Daniel Owen
Daniel learnt his craft at the White Eagle in Rhoscolyn, where his unique skills were recognised while on secondment to the Abode Restaurant in Chester, which ultimately led to him being invited to work for renowned two star Michelin chef Michael Caines at his restaurant at the Abode in Canterbury.
Daniel’s greatest desire is to develop his own brand, and when the invite came to head the Gaerwen Arms’ kitchen and restaurant, the birth of what is set to develop into a great adventure began.
Fresh locally-sourced produce is at the centre of Daniel’s inspiration when designing seasonal menus and his signature and special dishes.

Excellent food, flavoursome and well cooked. Very good value for money. Organisation of the staff could be better but still warranted 5 stars.
The food and service here was absolutely incredible with a wonderful view. The pub is dog-friendly and they were kind enough to bring ours water and treats as well. The staff were so attentive. We were celebrating becoming engaged earlier in the day and they went above and beyond. The food (locally sourced) was so good we came back the next day for Sunday lunch and had what my (now fiancé) described as "the best soup he's ever had". We were on holiday and live six hours away but I'd drive back just for the lobster risotto. Thank you so much to all the team here. If the manager reads these reviews, please give all of the kitchen and bar staff a huge pat on the back because they're doing a brilliant job and we couldn't have had a better time. Thank you!
One of our best dining experiences yet. The Gaerwen Arms boasts faultless service and great quality food. One of the greatest meals we've had as a family. A well run establishment with thoughtful staff. Keep up the high standards. Don't forget to stir the cocktails though 😉
Frankly the food and dining experience was out of this world, at very reasonable prices! Loved the steak tartare. I’m hesitant to put this out there publicly because I’m afraid we’ll never be able to get another booking! 😉
Seriously amazing food. Best we've had since arriving in Wales almost a week ago. Made a refreshing change from pub food "something and chips"! Service also excellent.
