Being a Saturday, it was quite busy and although the staff were fantastic, it looked like they were overworked/understaffed. All the food I had was good and their steak pie was delicious. Good selection of food for all (vegan/vegetarian etc). Plenty of parking also.
Came here for Sunday lunch as we were staying in a nearby hotel and needed something close by. I very rarely go for roast in a pub as they are so often a let down compared to a home cooked one but I thought I'd give this one a go, particularly as it included cauliflower cheese. However, when it arrived, it didn't look particularly impressive so didn't have high hopes. I tried the beef before anything else as it's the most important part and to my surprise, it was tender and juicy. Then I went for the potatoes and that's when it went downhill fast. They were practically inedible. I let the waitress know and she brought more to replace then and they were slightly better but still awful considering the price. All the other vegetables were well cooked but incredibly bland. I then realised that I had no cauliflower cheese so queried it and was told they don't have any. If I'd have know up front, I would've chosen again, plus I paid full price and there was something missing. I let them know and to their credit they brought me more beef. My wife's pie also had to be sent back as it was overdone and burnt. The second one was like a different pie. All that said, the service during all of this was exceptional. The waitress was super friendly and professional and dealt with all the complaints really well and when she sent the manager over, he was also extremely courteous and professional. Inside the decor was lovely. We sat in the bar area as we have a dog but it was warm welcoming and although I'd probably never have a roast again, I would return to try the rest of the menu, given the overall vibe.
We had a Friday evening meal at the Fox & Pheasant, staff were welcoming and friendly. The restaurant / pub had a lovely relaxed atmosphere and service was prompt. The food was delicious and good sized portions. Recommend the 8oz steak for mains and banana waffles with ice cream for dessert. Had a lovely meal and will certainly be visiting again soon.
We came here on Sunday. We didn’t have a good experience. We started off with rude staff, the female toilets where disgusting, 2 out of 3 of them where broken there was no toilet paper or hand soap. Under the sinks the panel was broken. Completely understand this happens, however remove it. Don’t leave it there for children to harm themselves on. Or for it to fall on someone. when we went to order our food most of what we wanted was out of stock, we also asked if we could take out all salad and sauce from one of our meals since my nephew is autistic and really struggles with food. Yet when it arrived it arrived with all sauces and salad inside. Which caused him to have an episode. when we got our food it was cold, dry and stale none of the modifications we made to one of the meals was done. Overall would not recommend. We have never had an issue with a green king before however this has put us off the company from this experience.
Great place for food. Very friendly. Large outside space & plenty of tables inside too. Service was very good & not too slow even though we were there on the regular Tuesday quiz night. The food was well cooked, flavoursome & reasonably priced. We had prawn cocktail, squid, chilli chicken thighs & hunters chicken - there was no room left for dessert! The food arrived & I forgot to take pictures of the starters 🙃 Return visit for a quick meal before the cinema - equally as good as the 1st visit!
