We came to Worcester for 3 nights for New Year and looked forward to spending NYE at The Flag. The doorman was great when we arrived and gave us both a party hat as we entered, the party already in full swing. What a great night we had! The atmosphere was fantastic, the music was ace with all the top anthems playing and the whole joint was rocking. Once the countdown to midnight arrived out came the free Prosecco which was an extremely generous touch. We had a fantastic night and I’m sure we will still be finding glitter in our undies for the rest of the week lol! Came here for New Year’s Eve and had a great night. Very welcoming, friendly and hard working staff. We felt there was just the right number of people there and loved the Prosecco provided. This was our first time in Worcester and are very glad we celebrated the night at The Flag.
My own take on the place is I went in one weekday. Staff served me no problem. There was no entertainment on at the time. Security guy was friendly enough. I did notice after being there awhile some lad getting thrown out. He was obviously smashed anyway. What people forget to realise is the flag is open much later than most bars. You don't at any time in there feel unsafe but looking at some of the negative comments makes me wonder if the problem wasn't the flag. Its people who when most bars close should take a hint and go home.
Just been to the flag, had a nice quiet pint there (there for half hour at least) went to the bar for another. Problems started from there. Waiting for 10 mintutes. New barman had no idea what he was doing and charged me wrong then had to get one of the obvious real barman, following that they had a problem with their card reader (my card wrongly declined) then prompted the "full of himself barman" to sign to the bouncer, to draw his finger across his throat (without option of alternative payment either card or cash) to throw us out on the presumption we had no money therefore kicking us out (being escorted by the bouncer out) how embarrassing, what a joke. Absolutely joke! More considerate bar staff needed.
