Called in here today with my partner as it was her birthday and had a lovely meal. Very cosy and excellent views of the sea from the restaurant. Staff very friendly and attentive. Good choices of food. Good portion size , A lovely beach to stroll along before eating here. We will definitely be coming back here again. We couldn't fault it at all. The bounty cheese cake was absolutely mouth watering and home made to 100%.
Oh my goodness! What an absolute gem we have stumbled upon! Rounded off a perfect weeks holiday by dining here after our friends recommended it to us saying they had had the best Sunday lunch of their lives! My hubby and I had the same fish pate starters which were really yummy. Then hubby had steak pie which, being a bit of a connoisseur - said it was probably the best he'd ever had. The lovely waitress recommended a chicken breast dish to me which was absolutely divine. Seriously good. It had a creamy, tarragon sauce with it but I couldn't put my finger on what else was making the sauce so special and of course it is unlikely that chef would divulge his secret. The chicken was cooked fresh, to order. The accompanying vegetables were cooked to absolute perfection too. We would have loved dessert but sadly had no room whatsoever. The waitress really looked after us and made sure we had a table overlooking the beautiful beach with gentle waves rolling in. What more could one ask for? When next up in the area, The Fishing Boat Inn will be our number one go-to, every time. Thank you!
Found this gem whilst doing the coastal walk. Lovely little pub/restaurant with a warm cosy feel; staff were very friendly and helpful, and had the best fish and chips I’ve ever had! The fish was delicious and great value for money considering the size and the homemade chips were amazing along with it! Will definitely be coming back next summer!
Sea views…apparently not! Called in for a quick, late afternoon (5.45pm) pint having earned one after a good 8 mile coastal path walk. After I’d purchased said pint, I was informed that the rear, beach-facing, terrace was out of bounds for mere beer drinkers as it was reserved for people eating food. So I was consigned to the car park at the front with the non-sea views and lovely plastic grass. Avoid!
Had dinner here. Excellent food. Really welcoming staff. Happy to provide a plate of cucumber and tomatoes for the kids when they didn't want main meal. Good selection of wine and ales. Fabulous view over Bay.
