The Fishermans Arms or The Fish as it’s fondly known by its customers is a traditional pub in Hartlepool with a warm, friendly welcoming atmosphere without the distraction of tv, jukebox or fruit machines.
Our Pub is a place to relax and enjoy real ales, lager, cider etc.
We are dog friendly, and children are welcome
We have a fun quiz every Sunday with cash prizes, quiz starts 7pm.
The Fish is here to support local acts and we promote live music, in a warm friendly environment.Every Saturday we have local bands playing with bands further afield playing from time to time as well. Our Fish Live Music Night is held every third Thursday of the month, it gives performers a chance to perform in front of an attentive audience. It’s also a chance for local musicians to get together.
Our popular Bluesburn is held 1st Thursday of the month, this has proven to be a popular night in The Fish where blues players and singers get together and perform their favourite blues tune.

Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS FRIENDLY PUB ...Great atmosphere and decour inside plus the Ales are reasonably priced and some lovely specialist pints ...live music nights are NOT TO BE MISSED !! BEST PUB IN HARTLEPOOL X Always visit when I'm.back in the North and it gets better and better :) xx
As friendly as ever. Popped in for a quick half after a Headland walk and was greated to a delicious ale and a great chat with the owner. An absolutely fantastic pub and one I really should make the effort to get to more often. Dog friendly too. 😁
Really friendly landlords. Had a good chat with them and they gave me some Beer Pump Clips which made me really happy. Spent the whole night in there and had a lovely time. Will definitely be going back.
Traditional English pub and all the better for it! Gable Wall has had the recent addition of a stunning new mural depicting a traditional Fisher woman from Hartlepool fishing community history. Well worth a visit ;)
