About us

Superior pub food in a truly lovely village’ Good Pub Guide

For over 20 years at the Eyston Arms we have consistently maintained a high level of service and welcome together with an enviable reputation for proper English country cooking.

We love being a proper Pub.

Daisy Barton is the face of the Arms and in charge with support from George Dailey who, with his wife Cargie undertook the conversion of this struggling village pub in 2003 into the destination inn it is today.

Great place for family Sunday Lunch. Friendly staff, warm welcome, and great menu choice with all the meals we had really delicious. We had some special requirements and everyone was so helpful and understanding. Highly recommended.

Always a special experience at The Eyston Arms - fantastic food, and impeccable service. Their Sunday Roast never disappoints, and they offer gluten-free options for every element, which in our experience is quite unusual! Parking on-site, lovely outdoor area for drinks in the summer too!

This is a great place to come for lunch. The landlord is very welcoming, hospitable and sociable. He is very engaged with all his guests. We were a group of 6 friends and ordered a range of dishes. The salmon main courses were delicious as was the chicken schnitzel. The food looked very fresh and well presented. The rather naughty desserts were delicious! The ice cream and summer fruit compote was perfect and we also enjoyed the chocolate mousse and the sticky toffee pudding. We wish this was our local - sadly not and we will be back.

We managed to book a table at the last minute, due to a cancellation, which was great! Highly recommend booking - a very popular local pub, with lovely local charm, in the beautiful setting of East Hendred village. An open fire place in Winter, outdoor seating in Summer. Free parking behind the pub. The staff are extremely friendly, welcoming and attentive. Meals are creative and beautifully presented. Thank you and well done Eyston Arms Team - we'll be back soon :)
