Very disappointed Christmas Day Dinner! Menu states festive canapés on arrival. Mince pie and tea or coffee. None of these appeared, other than the coffee that we asked for. Starters were acceptable. The main course well! The turkey was like a roll.of processed turkey with rolled stuffing the vegetables were a lot to be desired! Desserts OK. Cheese and biscuits were good. We were rushed through the courses. The staff were very friendly though. All in all not the experience we were expecting for a Christmas Day Dinner!

Avoid if you have allergies or dietary preferences!! Went here for a staff Christmas party. Pre-selected vegan items from the menu. When the soup starter came out, I asked the waiter if the butter provided was dairy or a substitute. He advised me it was dairy. No biggie - a lot of places make this blunder which is why I always ask, but still annoying. Vegan wellington was delicious, I’m just not sold on mixed beans with it. Portion size was also quite small. After the starter I thought it would be best to ask if the gravy was vegan and was assured it was. Dessert was a catastrophe. I had chosen the vegan chocolate & orange tart as listed on their menu. The waitress then came round saying it actually had egg in it and wasn’t vegan, so would we be happy with a brownie instead. I said that would be fine. They then served it with a big dollop of dairy ice cream! I told them I can’t eat it, so they did replace my dessert but my trust was completely broken. It was also served without any cutlery so we had to ask for spoons. White wine served warm twice in an ice bucket without the ice. I think some education is needed. It’s just as well no one at our table had any major allergies otherwise they could have hurt someone. I felt sorry for the servers who kept having to apologise.

Food disappointing. Soup only warm. Frozen roast potatoes. Brussels sprouts were undercooked. Whole meal only warm not hot. Forgot to dish up the carrot on the plate which was brought out on a separate plate...only 3 of us eating so not very impressed. Long wait between each course and for the tea and coffee to be served. Xmas menu not worth £20 let alone the £33 which was charged

Ate here last night and had a lovely meal. We went here (Saturday night) on the off chance of getting some food. We had been to cafe rouge and The Windrush of which both weren’t serving food ???? When arriving at The Evenlode we were greeted by a lovely young lady who showed us to our table. The restaurant was quite full and although we did have to wait a little bit for our drinks, the waitress was very apologetic. The food came very quickly and was hot and tasted lovely. Would definitely come back and would definitely recommend.

I was here for a family lunch of approx 12 people. The food was excellent. I've never seen such large portions. Every mouthful was delicious. The staff bent over backwards to provide seamless service. If I lived closer I'd have Sunday lunch here frequently.
