The pub is closed. It's very sad used to be a great village pub. The beautiful old pub sign has disappeared.
very quiet and extremely clean. 10 min walk to Stour River , pub and village store just down the road.
Really enjoyed our stay - very quiet and friendly staff! Pub serving food on site too 👌 Since this last stay we went again and I think we paid too much for two nights considering it's an adult only and children where on site and the pub was closed. Toilets had no toilet paper. So sorry this has gone down hill and will not stay again
This was a bit of a surreal stay for me because I only have a teeny micro-camper! Everyone else had motorhomes or caravans. A well kept place with hook-up, good showers, water points, and toilets. In summer the food and drink is available but, understandably, it was closed for the off-season. I arrived at dusk and was intending to leave at dawn. The owner, Richie, was a star and really helpful. Only downside was the owners had a doggo that they very responsibly kept away from visitors. I really wanted to saw hello to him 😹 Can't wait to return when exploring more of the area 🤩
Okay, let's face it: this is one of these campsites where people only stay for a short periode of time because of the ferry. But the owner and his pub turn it into a fun campsite. He's friendly, has a good sense of humor. The food is very acceptable though veggies are a rare thing (but that's almost everywhere in the UK except for peas. The toilet and showers are kind of clean.
