Second time of visiting. First was awful but thought give it another go. Service OK food good. Got the drink order wrong twice but was easily rectified. If I go again will head left when entering as this is the bigger busier side with more atmosphere. We sat in the quieter right side. Not familiar with this pub but know if there's a next visit.
Took my other review off due to latest experience. Went with friends Fri 22nd packed, tables dirty staff didn't take glasses away or clean. Food was OK christmas dinner. We order the afters which we got a mince pie each in a wrapper, no bowl the ice cream separate . Asked if they could warm up he said no . So we all didn't eat it.
Went to The Elm through the Xmas period only to find it quite busy as to what you’d expect this time of year. Problem is not with how busy it was, but how I was made to feel ignored by all the staff while waiting at the bar to get served for a food order. It’s always been busy before, but other times I was served very efficiently. The key priority is to not ignore the customer, but to apologise, & communicate with the customer by saying give me a few minutes, sir, & I’ll be with you.
Quick service and a good menu. There is plenty of choice for food and drink. There is lots of seating available inside and outside. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is lovely.
Stopped for dinner with friends after going to Southend quick friendly service food was nice well worth a stop if your passing
