Situated in the heart of Buckhurst Hill, Pelly House Members Club (previously known as Buckhurst Hill Sports and Social Club) was founded in 1906 by Fred Pelly.
Fred was born into a wealthy family, and went on to make his own fortune. He cruised the world many times with his wife, Beatrice, bought stately homes in Hampshire, Norfolk and Scotland, and in illustrious philanthropic gestures, funded Pelly House. Fred passed away in 1940,
34 years after he founded Pelly House.
Over the years, Trustees, Committees and Members have worked tirelessly to build upon the foundations which Fred left, in order to keep Pelly House thriving at the heart of the local community.
In recent years, we have undergone major refurbishment programmes and projects, to bring the physical fabric of the building in line with modern day expectations.
We are very proud of what we have achieved as a Club, and the fact that we have had to close our Membership books and introduce a Membership Waiting List, proves that we are doing something right!

Feel very lucky to have found this gem
Great Club good atmosphere with all the Sports and entertainment that's needed
Nice garden, pleasant staff and a great function room; upstairs bar would help!
Spent a very enjoyable night at my daughter in law's birthday party. Would like to thank the bar staff for their excellent hard work
My Son organised a surprise 60th birthday party for me at Pelley House. The venue was lovely with a spacious room and bar. Clean and air conditioned with a serviced bar at inexpensive prices. There is an adequate dance floor with surrounding round tables for guests. My Son was really happy with all the arrangements and it is somewhere we will be using again. Many of my guests have said they will be making enquiries for events they are planning.
