We are independent, family run Italian restaurant in the centre of York, serving authentic Italian cuisine with a welcoming atmosphere.
We have a new menu, consisting of freshly cooked, home-made food that showcased Italian culture and the simplicity of amazing food. There is something for everybody beginning with our classic Italian starters and sharing boards through to our range of Pastas, Al Forno pasta dishes, Risottos, Steaks, Pizzas and Calzones to give you a real taste of Italy. Alongside our food we also offer exclusive, hand selected wine which has been directly imported from Italy by our sister company L'uva Italian Wines. If wine isn't your thing, we have a range of Italian beers and a mouth-watering selection of cocktails.

This place was lovely. A very warm welcome from the front of house and the waiting staff. Lovely people. Food was excellent. We ordered bread and olives and were given a lovely surprise of a really warm flatbread, and plenty of it too. The olives were very enjoyable as was the ramekin of olive oil and balsamic. Main courses were the Sea Bass oven baked with a lobster sauce and vegetables. A big plate of food but absolutely delicious. We also had the Linguini Carbonara with chicken. At first I thought it was a touch bland, but the flavour of the sauce really grew as I ate a very hearty plateful. Superb. Dessert was just for one of us, and I had the Chocolate Tartufo. It has always been a favourite, and it did not disappoint. It was absolutely beautiful. The smells coming out of the kitchen were amazing, and we saw pizzas arrive in the table next to us. They looked delicious and we're huge! Definitely for next time! Last nod of appreciation is to the wine list, which was dull.of Italian gems and well thought out. I had a beautiful glass of negroamaro. My only comment, the smallest size glass was 175ml. I'd have preferred a 125ml. Just a small comment. A real 10/10 place.
Absolutely delicious food and great service! Would definitely recommend and will come back. Best salmon ever had in York. Dessert was amazing too, worth every penny!
I’m so happy that I decided to stop by and have an early dinner. I ordered the lasagna and let me tell you, it’s the BEST lasagna I’ve had. It’s cheesy, flavorful and made with love! Highly recommended restaurant if you are in York!
Went for dinner with a friend to celebrate our birthdays. I had the spaghetti meatballs and these were fine (although surprisingly spicy). My friend had the truffle raviolis and was very disappointed. She could not taste the truffle as it was drowned in tomato sauce, and the presentation was not great; it looked a bit like canned raviolis just thrown into a plate. I recommend the Tiramisu though, very tasty.
We visited Enoteca By L’uva on October 13, 2023. We both ordered the two course lunch. She ordered the tomato-basil soup and vegetarian lasagna, me antipasto and Diavolo pizza. The service was great (Soofyane), the atmosphere perfect, the staff attentive, yet not rushed. Superior ingredients, a lovely setting, an incredible meals.
