Great hotel in the centre of the village. Staff are very welcoming and friendly, especially Steve. The rooms are very comfortable, quiet, warm and spacious, as are the bathrooms and the super king size bed which we had was fantastic. Great breakfast on offer and we just loved the welcoming bar with the roaring fire.
Very dated and rough around the edges but in a quiet location. It's in need of modernising and needs some looking after to get it up to scratch. Not a comfy bed and pillows weren't great either. Strangely decorated room as well with no desk etc and so difficult to do any work. Lovely staff however, just let down by the rooms / hotel itself.
Just returned from a two night stay. Lovely hotel just a mile off the M74 motorway. Our room (16) had been completely refurbed with a modern en suite and flat screen tv. Breakfasts were very good here, lot of choice. We ate here on both evenings, again plenty choice of proper home cooked food. Nice hosts, well worth a visit.
Stopped here for 1 night on route from London to Glasgow. Arrived at 9pm, yet given a lovely welcome by the owners. Just missed out on an evening meal. Room was nice, bed comfortable, even had decaf tea in the room 🙂 Had time for a quick pint from the bar after a long day on the road. A lovely cooked breakfast was served in the morning. The hotel is nothing fancy, just a good old basic Scottish Inn. Will definitely book again.
Really lovely rooms and great friendly staff. We had an old and unwell dog with us and the nice man was very kind and let us change rooms and have us a lovely packed breakfast so we could leave early. The hotel is like an old coaching inn and looks fairly rustic on the outside but inside is a good mix of original and new fittings. The room was very modern and clean and the bed very very comfy. Thank you!
