The staff were very helpful and professional the meal was just perfect..the room was lovely and warm great shower with lovely piping hot water ...the breakfast in the morning was superb with lots of choices..we had a room with a balcony with Loch lomond right outside our window ...the weather was dreadful but it was January so i expect the views in summer will be spectacular.... the double bed was large and extremely comfortable....the only downside of the trip were the pillows on the bed... they were very lumpy and most uncomfortable....all in all my birthday treat from my husband was lovely
Food was tasty, but over priced. Main dishes require the additional purchase of vegetables or fries, which ordinarily would be included in the cost. Surroundings were lovely and we sat underneath the open fire.
We didn’t stay, but dined in the restaurant for dinner and overall, it was a nice evening. I had the prawn cocktail for start and my Husband had the mussels and we had butter chicken and fish and chips for mains. I’d say the mussels and fish and chips were a better choice. The table sundae was more tablet than anything else and lacked the meringue but was nice. The service was fantastic and the team did very well be attentive despite being a busy Friday night. My reason for 3* is because I wonder how fresh the food is. The prawn cocktail seemed pre-packaged and as did the butter chicken curry but was taken from packaging to be served. The fish and chips however seemed much more fresh.
It was just a wee night away for my husband and myself with dinner! No cooking or washing up and someone else making and serving breakfast was lovely! The views were gorgeous, the room a bit small and I disliked the pillows but everything was clean! Lounge and restaurant was lovely, food was good! Staff lovely, chatty, friendly and helpful! Decorations were AMAZZZZING! Just gorgeous! Surroundings lovely, sitting looking over the water! Too far out though without a car, very expensive if you had to use a taxi all the time!
I LOVE this restaurant! I had the best cooked breakfast there (and I am very fussy!). It was beautifully decorated for autumn and we got a lovely view over the loch. The food was piping hot and the coffee is strong. They offer alternative milk and gluten free options. I cannot praise this place enough. As a haiku: Autumn hues, loch views, Breakfast for a fussy taste, Praise for warmth and brews.
