A 'cracking wee' pub located just off George Square. There's a touch of the Highland lodge about this busy city-centre bar with its wood-panelled walls, bookshelves and decorative antlers. It's a hit with a mixed group of people, ranging from local office workers taking advantage of the meal deals (check out "our menu's") to sports fans keeping up to date on the big-screen football, horseracing and other big fixtures, or put on your dancing shoes & boogie the night away to our resident Saturday-night DJ. There's been a bar on the site of Drouthy's for decades, which means there's a loyal band of friendly regulars too. Good selection of craft beer & local brews - House beers are West St Mungo Lager (Glasgow) & BrewDog Punk IPA (Aberdeenshire) with up to two Guest craft kegs (Check out what's on for details). Lovely little pub! I went in to wait out the rain and have some lunch. The staff are very nice and the food was good.
Excellent dog friendly pub serving a good range of beers and drama. Good service with a smile and a chat even delivered a few strokes and biscuits for my.lovely Cavalier! Ab Fab 😎
We happened upon this comfortable pub after a kilt fitting our first day in Scotland. Nick was a wonderful host and quite the breath of fresh air after being exposed to East German customer service for the past 6 years. Though his lady replacement after he had served our food was lacking but thelat may have been because all orders that followed had to be made at bar for some reason. That said... Easily the best fish and chips I've ever had and the steak pie was loved by my wife. We have never been bar hoppers or those that frequent such establishments but every so often you stumble across a bar or a pub where you feel at home. This was one of those places. I was so comfortable. Highly recommend and I look forward to going back.
Popped in for a quick drink and to warm up. Very busy, but good bar service, quick and polite. If you want to eat, book a table.
Second time in this pub in 2 weeks as a visitor from England. Both times have been a really good experience. Had food today for the first time (steak pie and scampi) portions are large and great value for money. Taste absolutely amazing, not one complain. Staff are observant and friendly. Will definitely visit again
