My daughter (4) and I had a great stay at this one of a kind hostel , which felt more like a hotel in some ways, though very relaxed and comfortable. The staff were wonderful, welcoming and thoughtful and my daughter had a ball exploring the common areas and our room. There is a well-stocked games cupboard, record player and even a vintage typewriter to play with and she was delighted to sample the variety of complimentary cereals on offer in the morning.
Spent a wonderful night at the Dolphin Inn whilst on the Southern Upland Way (a short bus journey from Cockburnpath). The whole place is beautifully decorated, super clean, excellent value for money, super central and full of great people. A special shout out to Louise who was incredibly helpful. I’m sad I only stayed one night and plan to return to explore Dunbar!
One of the nicest hostels I’ve had the pleasure of staying at (speaking as a former backpacker!!) — this place had everything we needed and even a complimentary breakfast. Rooms were very stylish, the building was quiet despite the high ceilings and the retro interior decor was really cool. Staff were so kind and welcoming. Literally our only complaint was that it was a bit expensive but otherwise we’d stay again in a heartbeat!
This is one of the most delightful hostels we've ever stayed at, not only because the facilities are so clean and well-looked-after, but because there's such a friendly, welcoming atmosphere permeating the entire place (staff and guests included). We got rained in one day so instead of walking, hung out at the inn for a full day. There's no dark side. Everyone is welcomed with cheer and a time for a chat if you wish. Everything we requested was granted with grace. I couldn't recommend the Dolphin Inn more highly for those needing a guest house in the area.
We loved our stay at the Dolphin Inn. The room and bathrooms were spotlessly clean, the staff was very friendly and breakfast is included. We were impressed by the stylish furnishing throughout and its quirky details (casette player in our bedroom!). Would happily return and will recommend to my friends! :)
