Fabulous meal at the Dolau. Lovely owners and friendly locals. Amazing old building!
We drove out of our way to find this little pub today, was very relieved to find a quaint characteristic building with lovely surroundings. Unfortunately it was closed so we didn't get to see the inside or sample any food it drinks.. but it looked like the kind of place we would have enjoyed, and the sun was shining - so 5 stars
Cycle touring through in extreme heat which then turned to heavy rain 2 miles from the pub. We stayed on the field for the night. Beautifully mown grass. Shame it was raining heavily and we turned up so late. By the time the tent and tarp was up and we were showered we didn't have a chance to check out the pub, we just passed out. £5 squid each. Now thats what I'm talking about. The highlight was the amazing showers which is what you want after a hard day in the saddy. 20p for 4 minutes of the most wondrous shower.... So we blew 80p in to total between us, the bathrooms had a wonderful pine aroma.... Until the black pudding, egg and baked bean bap passed through but the extractor fan worked well. Thankyou.
This was a return visit by our club during the Welsh Castles Relay. Again Chris and the team were so friendly and welcoming, with food orders taken immediately we arrived. Everyone was pleased with the hearty and tasty perfect post-race food, and no one complained about the portions - which is unusual! The bunkhouse & shower rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable, and the camping field is perfect. We plan to return in 2020 please!
Proper good traditional pub. The Sunday roast left all five of our group happy. We were made to feel welcome. Quiet and relaxing drink outside in the sun was enjoyable. Only 3 miles up the road so will definitely be going back for second helpings.😁
