Spent a lovely Sunday night here celebrating my wife's Birthday. The suites really are delightful. The Hotel is excellent for dogs, dog walking and the staff really friendly. only let down by "tired" decoration and food was very average !
We booked the Christmas Afternoon Tea and decided to go to The Devonshire Arms Hotel, instead of our usual Betty’s as we found it to be overpriced and overhyped - purely living on their reputation and name. Well, I’m so glad we did choose TDAH! The Afternoon Tea was divine - very filling, set in lovely grounds and the service was excellent; extremely attentive. The only criticism (and it is constructive) is instead of four sweet treats, we as a group thought that they should offer more sandwiches - the ratio was slightly off. All in all, a great experience, very sweet and we will return next year. It was a pleasure to dine with them.
Disappointed with the standard of rooms. Bedding wasn't premium, didn't feel like good quality linen and was creased. Strange window from the room into the bathroom!! I've stayed at the Devonshire in Beeley and the standard of rooms is much higher. This looked tired and in need of a refresh. Disappointing 😞
Belated birthday treat. The tasting menu at the Burlington last Friday night was absolutely outstanding, wine was first class, waiting staff were impeccable. Yes, this place costs, but you get what you pay for and is very much worth it as a dining experience.
The staff were the real credit to the Devonshire Arms Spa. They simply couldn't so enough and were always on hand to help out. The facilities were excellent. The refurbished spa pool is such an amazing area, both in the pool and out, to relax and unwind. It's a small spa but the numbers of people using it are well managed. The weather was beautiful so having the bell tents with table and chairs and sun loungers outside gave us our private space to relax. Lunch was exemplary. Thank you chef. The treatments were the icing on the cake. We couldn’t have wished for a nicer day at the Devonshire Arms Spa.
