Homely pub, beer is well cared for. Reasonably friendly welcome. A bit scruffy, needs some cleaning and TLC especially in the top room.
My local, so I love it 😉. Down to earth British pub. Everyone made welcome, local or not.
Friendly no-frills 'local pub'. No food served. Tuesday night, free, all-welcome quiz (starts 9:30pm, finishes about 11pm). Pool. Darts. Rarely live acoustic performer upstairs. No car park. Decent beer - Tribute (St Austell) and Budvar pilsner (Czech Republic) amongst others. Bare floors. Smoking terrace at rear with major view over the town. Toilets in need of refurb.
Went to see a couple of folk artists. The main issue is, having to go all the way down the stairs if you want a wee or a drink. Yhe beer was very good and reasonably priced though. Would recommend if you just wanted a drink.
Great real ale pub with majestic views, service was excellent, very clean and the beer was spot on,the sort of place you can tell doesn't tolerate knob heads, brilliant for a pint in peace. Definitely will be back.
