I can't comment about the rooms as I have not stayed here. But as for the service and food, you would be hard pressed to find anything better. Excellent quality produce and the service of is top notch. You will always be greeted with a warm, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere.
A must stay if wanting off the track and a real local life visit. Very handy to Hadrians Wall. Food is yum and lovely, as are owners, Alyson and Steve, and Jim, their barman! You will not regret staying here at all!
Have been several times now and it never lets you down. Went last night for a family meal (9 adults & 2 children / 3 if you count the newborn who slept throughout); the service was excellent, staff very helpful and friendly and the food was excellent. The specials board is well worth considering if you’re there. We’ll be back again soon.
Excellent stay rooms tidy staff amazing. Food was the best we have had in a pub for a long while. Even the locals in for a beer made us all welcome and chatted away.breakfast was the best and nothing to much trouble.we will definitely return
This traditional inn met and exceeded our expectations. It’s spotlessly clean. The rooms provide just about everything one needs for a comfortable stay with great attention to detail. Toiletries, tissues, bottled water, tea and coffee facilities with a selection of biscuits, plentiful towels, hairdryer and a TV. The breakfast is high quality and generous. Best of all, is the welcome and friendly service. Thank you to Alison and her team for making our stay very memorable.
