I was travelling as part of a coach trip. Which did away with parking problems, which would of been a problem. All meals were included and were served hot and waitress service was professional. All the shops are within easy walking distance and are extensive. Weymouth has a beautiful beach which I enjoyed very much. My only fault I had with the hotel was when my bags were taken to the coach from my room without my permission or notification. Otherwise I would have awarded more stars
Enjoyed a 2 night stay as part of a team event. Without a doubt the best service I have had in a long while. They fed almost 100 of us breakfast at 6 am and everyone was amazing. The whole weekend was very well done with very pleasant people. The hotel is a period hotel with all the fine features you don't see in a purple hotel. But it gives it great character. The food was good too, hot and service excellent. The lift is small, but I did not find it an issue. Minor irritations are, the shower water pressure on the top floor was very weak and I would never find my way out in a fire. The staircases seem to flow in different directions and I got lost more than once. But Nice place and convenient to all the amenities.
Two of us went to the restaurant in the crown hotel next to the town bridge for lunch today. We both ordered jacket potatoes and we’re told that they were 2 for 1 at lunchtime. The potatoes were nice and big and came with a side salad and coleslaw, they were delicious. A nice big potato loaded with prawns for under £5 each! Well worth a visit! I think it was Maureen who looked after us, she was spot on, delightful and welcoming! We will be back!
I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights in 1990. the location is beautiful, the building is heritage and distinctive, and the service is good. One of the features of the hotel is that it prepares trips for guests to visit places such as the Bell Portal and others.
Lovely room friendly staff. Restaurant Bar and Entertainment room were excellent. Entertainment was good. The only problem I could find was, like most of the hotels of this age, having only one small lift.
