Beautiful location, stunning views and rooms. Food was absolutely amazing and staff are are attentive, kind and professional. If you suffer from an allergy or have an intolerance, this is taken very seriously and catered for. Nothing is ever too much trouble here. Dog friendly too, always a bonus. We love this place, glad we stumbled across it a few years ago and will be back in 2024!

I am in the trade and take given a public review very seriously. I have opened up backend channels to discuss my concerns, which I have not received any reply. As a foodie, I will pay anything for some amazing dishes. In fact, I have effectively twice as much for a hotel room to simply to dine at AA Rosetta restaurant. Given that 2 courses is £65 per person. Effectively, I have paid £300 for two people for dinner and breakfast. At this price point, well you would expect very high standards. In fairness, my starter, goat cheese and beetroot was a delight. The chef also made some sourdough bread served with whipped butter. We are really on a good start here. Although the wine menu was extensive and exciting, I drink red and my partner drinks white. Really, dropping £100 for a bottle red without sharing does not compute. Instead of having a chef selected house red, they have opted for 1/4 bottles crafted by Rodger the Rabbit. At this stage, I am literally feeling financially pushed into an ever deeper rabbit hole. My partner ordered the duck and I had the sirloin. The steak had a premium on it, but what I was already paying was £50 for the steak and now, £56 for the steak. At this price point, I am expecting one thing and one thing only, serious wow factor! With a steak, this is dead easy to achieve. Both the duck and the steak were dry, bland and more like leather. The chef could not be bothered to season the meats nor rest them. Although the duck was served medium rare, the steak was served medium. The steak was simply served with an under ripe grilled salad tomato and flat top mushroom. Oh, and some store bought chips. This is 100% pub food and something like £22 is a fair price. There is was no skill and nor love. The quality of the steak was simply I would struggle to half and just chuck the other half to my dog. My partner felt exactly the same with her duck. Forget the idea of of jaw dropping excitement, neither of us wanted to eat leather. No worries, we planned on starving at night, but we are going to have an amazing breakfast the next morning. Again, we were served canned fruits, 54% pork sausages, common eggs, frozen hashbrowns, basic salad tomatoes, concentrated OJ and PG Tips tea. Again at £255 per night with breakfast included, at this price point, high quality ingredients is a must. A little love, a boost in skill level in the kitchen or dropping the penny pinching attitude would make this hotel worth every penny. If the total cost of the stay was half the price, I would have given a 4 star review. However, I am not skimping on price, I don't tolerate a premium hotel to penny pinch.

We've been 4 times over the years now and would recommend to anybody who wants a treat. The rooms and the grounds of the hotel are simply stunning and the food is of the highest order.

Restaurant: was there 05/09, hoped on a nice experience. Starter waw (Welsh truffle), real surprise. Main was best piece of meat but big disappointment for its price. Cuisine very good, so kitchen did their out most best, but quality remained low. Think managers seek cheaper suppliers. Too bad as service and kitchen were outstanding.

This is a lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. It's also only a 20min leisurely walk from the village of Betws-y-Coed. The staff are very helpful, friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. I have never met more lovely people. The hotel is spotlessly clean. Dinner was from a fixed 2 or 3 course menu....which may be restrictive if you're staying a week. Good choice for breakfast. All food was fresh, well presented and tasty. We payed extra for a riverview room with a really comfortable bed. The reason it lost a star was because it's a bit expensive for the overall standard and appearance. Saying that, I highly recommend it and will stay there as a first choice when in this area of North Wales.
