On a Shearings Twixmas coach trip. A warm comfy hotel .room spotless and lovely fluffy white towels. Bed good size twins.clean sheet and pillow cases. Bathroom modern shower over bath plenty of hot water. Food some of the best iv had on coach tours,good atmosphere in bar on evening usual quiz and bingo .Live entertainment excellent .it's not in a picturesque position in town .but handy to get to old part of Kendal. Staff busy mulitaxing and working their socks off. Enjoyed my stay .
Please do not let the 2 star rating of this hotel discourage you from booking with The County Hotel, it certainly deserves a higher rating than it currently has. We stayed over Christmas 2023 on a Daish's self drive package & everything was completely & utterly perfect. The food was exceptional & plentiful. The behind the scences staff in the kitchen must work extremely hard to produce the lovely quality food at every meal time & it did not go unnoticed. The front of house staff are friendly & professional. Special thanks go to our waitress, Jess, who was always pleasant, smiley & extremely attentive, nothing was too much trouble for her. Henry was an absolute all rounder on reception, bar & entertainment and coach driver Nigel is a chatty, friendly guy. The rooms are spacious & very comfortable. It's also plenty warm enough too which only adds to the cosy feel of the place. There was some form of entertainment each evening in the form of bingo, quizes & singers, all of which we enjoyed. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay a very enjoyable one. We look forward to returning in the future, maybe Christmas 2024.
We had our fifth stay at The County hotel recently. Yet again it was delightful, The hotel is so clean, welcoming and warm.The staff cannot do enough to help you. The food is delicious with a varied menu choice daily- a special mention to the two chefs Shaun and Steve. We would recommend this hotel to anyone as it is so accessible to lovely shopping town and regular local transport.There is nightly entertainment and bingo. Hope to see Lisa and all her staff soon. Good hotel and friendly welcome from the staff the room is spacious and clean. has everything you need apart from a fridge. Situated on a very busy road junction though and having a room on the front meant it was fairly noisy even at night but not unbearable. Food is decent with a good variety of choices. Very good overall.
Brilliant family holiday. Food okay and varied. Rooms lovely. Henry made our holiday, working reception, calling bingo, entertaining us. He is a credit to the hotel.
