This place instantly makes you feel comfortable. We were greated with a smile from super friendly staff, food was excellent (had the roast) and, even though they'd ran out of meat, they bent over backwards to find a suitable replacement. Honestly cannot recommend this place enough... Lovely quirky atmosphere, amazing food and even better service. 10/10 will be making this a regular Sunday thing! Thank you 👌
I lunched at this warm pub with a large group today when the carvery was on offer. Most of us took advantage of that and I was accommodated, in spite of being pescatarian and having some food allergies - the food is absolutely delicious with very generous portions and very attentive friendly, happy staff. We returned for various hot drinks and home-made cakes after a walk on a bitterly cold day. I’d highly recommend them and believe they do a carvery on Wednesday and Sundays. Very good value and so easy to find with a huge carpark.
An impromptu stay due to the local roads being flooded and unable to continue my journey home from work. Staff were very welcoming and accommodating, putting me at ease after a stressful experience on the roads. I had a delicious dinner of mushrooms and a blue cheese starter, followed by scampi. Both dishes were prompt, hot and well seasoned. I had a cosy bed and a good night’s sleep. I had eaten so well the night before, I chose a lighter breakfast of poached eggs but more was on offer if I had wanted it. I’ll definitely return with friends & family.
Great pub to spend an afternoon with a wonderful family meal. Food was lovely and plentiful. Recommend the venison pie with chips, which were perfectly cooked. Service great and the locals were very friendly too.
Wonderful friendly welcome. Very well sourced ingredients and attention to detail. Our experience was a walk-in breakfast for 10. Some had The Signature Breakfast, others the English Breakfast and all very well priced, presented and well served. Great coffee, plentiful fruit juices, jams & marmalade + fruit bowl. I would highly recommend The Countryman from our experience
