On this visit I actually stayed over night (4 nights) It was not booked in advance but is out of tourist season so I was happy to get a room. The room is more than adequate clean tidy and I was well looked after. I wanted to update my review as the last one was done at the end of covid and had a huge influx of tourists This visit I got to see just how friendly the landlord and locals are Each morning I was offered a cooked breakfast, although it was a different serving everyday. So not consistent 😑. I have eaten here two evening out of the 4, the menu is quite limited but I enjoyed what I was given the portions were good and the quality and presentation were also good. Would I recommend visiting and staying most certainly it's is a local pub that treats you well and makes you feel at home. I would like to also add a special bit of praise and thanks to the ladies who work here. Always welcoming, friendly and polite.
A proper pub with carpets, good beer, friendly, helpful service, and quality pub food. Nice locals too.

So, I went by reviews and chose to eat here. I'm afraid I wasn't that impressed. Mushroom risotto, bland, arrived to look like it was rice swimming in gravy. I was expecting to see different varieties of mushrooms, parmesan, but no. Sorry wasn't for me. OH had a burger served with plastic cheese, I'm a bit over this to be honest, buy your meat locally, this was a cheap frozen burger, make your own!! Grate the cheese!! Make it look appealing! All together bland. Chips were good, staff friendly, food bland. Other dishes may be fine, it just felt like they were sitting pretty as they have a captive audience, same as the pub in my village 🤷🏼♀️
Fantastic gem of a pub, lovely food and a warm welcome. 13 of us with 6 kids, didn't need to book and they were very accommodating. Beautiful curries and cracking steaks. Highly recommended.
