Booked here for 4day Christmas break. Room was basic but had everything you needed and was nice and warm. Breakfast was a bit disorganised but staff were very pleasant and trying to please but definitely could have been better organised. Christmas dinner was lovely and very well organised, with tables all laid up looking very Chrismassy and all went very smoothly. Nice atmosphere in bar areas at night and again staff very friendly and approachable.
It may be in a small village but you'll love it, the food is nice and the staff are great. Very busy on Sundays with their dinner's so make sure you book in advance, even if you are just passing pop in for a pint
Nepalese menu not available on the Sunday lunchtime when we were there. The traditional roast was all that was available and it was not good. Overall quality was very poor and we were even served a "Yorkshire pudding" that was obviously burnt to the point it exploded on first cut.
We went to The Compasses Inn for supper on Wednesday evening. The log burner added to a warm atmosphere. We had a fabulous welcome from the staff who served us drinks very quickly and allowed time for us to choose our meals which were served efficiently. Just lately service has been poor in other restaurants we have been to.
I stopped here for dinner with my wife and little boy. Had a fantastic dinner, Nepalese and Indian food. Flavours were great. Garden backs into a playing field which my son loved. The beer was very good too.
