Chippenham Golf Club, founded in 1896, has gone through many changes in its history including the recent addition of new holes and the construction of a new purpose built clubhouse. These improvements have made Chippenham a great choice for all golfers whether it is membership, visiting golfers or societies.
Nice clubhouse with plenty of facilities for holding meetings and conferences. Restaurant serves good food but not the cheapest and there is a reasonable selection of drinks on offer. There is a top tracer driving range available with 8 bays but it wasn't on when I went last timeand lessons from a PGA professional. There are several social events available and non-members are welcome to attend.
Easy to find, with big car park. Club house, open to non-members, was clean and tidy, with heating on. Rather simple selection of lunch choices including baguettes, sandwiches, omelettes and burgers all made to order at reasonable prices. Served quickly and efficiently at the bar. Coffee machine was broken so the server had to waste time turning it on and off each time for our drinks. Food itself was delivered quickly. Prawn sandwich was good but not stuffed to edges, which were dry. Coronation and southern fried chicken baguettes were good but ends were lacking in filling. Chips were plentiful and very fluffy inside. Overall, a rather underwhelming experience.
Great course and a very friendly seniors section. Tasty food, well served by very obliging staff.
I've played this course a few times and I'm always surprised how well the course keeps in the wet weather we have been getting as the day we played trolleys were allowed .My own course has been carry only .The service we had in the clubhouse and the pro shop was very good and nothing was too much trouble overall a good experience enjoyed by all of us.
