The Chester Fields is a stunning Country Pub & Restaurant near Chester set in the heart of the Cheshire countryside. We’re famous for our use of local produce, amazing views & bizarrely, the Austrian ski lodge plonked in the middle of Cheshire.
Just outside the hustle and bustle of Chester, The Chester Fields isn’t your usual pub and restaurant. You see, we like to do things differently, have a bit of fun & perhaps break some of the rules.
Our welcoming converted barn is the perfect setting for any occasion. From cosy couple dining to bespoke weddings and big blow out celebrations. We even boast glorious gardens for Al Fresco dining {as long as the Great British weather plays ball of course!} & our private ski-style huts for drinking ice cold beer are the ideal escape from reality. With great real ales and authentic Austrian Schnapps, there’s no better place to kick back, relax and enjoy the company of friends, family & Nuno of course.
If you’re looking for something a little different for your wedding day, we offer a bespoke service that means you can have your dream day exactly how you imagined it would be. With menus tailored to each couple, beer on tap and cocktails galore; we can create a package that suits you and your budget without having to compromise.

5 adults and 2 children at 5pm 2 days before Christmas. Ushered to a dimly lit table at the rear of the dining area where we ordered our drinks and served quickly. We were then given the announcement that an item was off the menu, not a problem. We selected our starter only to be told the pigs in blankets were finished. Remember this is 5pm. So onwards we selected our main course, 2 of which were the turkey dish. These appeared only to be sent back due to over cooking and cold. The second dish was slightly better and consumed. Now the Christmas feeling was beginning to dissolve. Onwards to the sweet, would you believe the fancy one with sweets etc was also unavailable. We received a discount only by complaining and returned home feeling somewhat disappointed. Regretfully I would not recommend this Pub and advise customers to look elsewhere.
Set in a gorgeous location perfect for families, couples, Parties and even wedding events. Has an alpaca farm. Extremely clean and tidy. Excellent choice of food Roast beef dinner was amazing. Excellent Customer Service Great outdoor space
Lovely place to eat but thought it a little pricey, food was great though and plenty of choices but the dessert menu was a little limited. Overall for a decent meal and nice surroundings then a financial splash for a special occasion this would certainly fit the bill.
Quiet country pub with fancy overpriced menu. Nice location, spacious interior and friendly staff. My main course - the lamb rump - was disappointingly small especially for nearly £20. Why the need to skimp on the veggies? My starter, on the other hand, was exquisite: Chorizo jam and mozzarella filled doughnut. I almost wish I'd had that for starter and main!
Popped in for a coffee and ended up having lunch there. Delicious food, and the light lunch menu is very filling and good value. Our dog was also welcome in the bar area, so that was an added bonus and why we stayed for lunch.
