The Coach & Four, once an historic coaching inn, has been transformed into a lovely and attractive pub restaurant and is located on the Alderley Road out of Wilmslow, Cheshire. The site also includes a 35 bedroom lodge, which benefits from the close proximity to Manchester Airport.

The Coach & Four provides the very best in food and drink, in a stylish and comfortable environment, making it an ideal location for a wide range of occasions. Whether it’s a birthday, anniversary or christening, our orangery and private dining areas provide the perfect setting. It also has an upstairs function room, with bar, with a capacity for 100 people.

We recognise good beer matters so we have a full range of quality cask ales from our Brewery and rotating guest ales from across the UK. All complemented by a fine selection of lagers from around the world. The menu offers an exciting blend of top quality ingredients, many locally sourced, coupled with flair and originality providing a menu selection for all tastes, whether it is a light lunch or an evening dining out with family and friends.

Our vision is to be famous for the best pub experience around and we have won the Best Managed House in 2012 in the UK, and have been nominated for this award again for 2015.

Our dishes have to be outstanding every time, but our customers need to treated to the best customer service from a dedicated, passionate team.

The Role

The role is 48 hours per week and the key responsibilities of the Sous Chef will include:

Preparation and cooking of dishes to a consistently high standard
Ensuring completion of all food safety and health & safety checks e.g. temperature checks, date dotting
Ensure hygiene standards within the kitchen are maintained – completion of cleaning rota duties
In conjunction with the Manager, ordering stock and liaising with suppliers

You will be instrumental in building the food trade through consistently producing popular dishes to a high standard using fresh ingredients.

The Person

If you enjoy being busy, and getting stuck in, are a stickler for detail and want a position where you can make a real difference then this position is for you.

The successful candidate should:

Have previous kitchen experience and be used to high volume cooking with fresh food
Be qualified to NVQ Level 1 & 2 in food prep and cooking, or equivalent
You should ideally have the Foundation Food Hygiene certificate, although if not these courses can be arranged once in position

Salary:

Up to £23,000 dependant on experience
5.6 weeks holiday per year
