We were treated by a young lady with a beaming smile and friendly chatter. Served our drinks promptly. Placed our food order at the bar then sat and waited for our lunch. We had visited this bar a few times since the 80s and commented the place was now looking tired and needed a makeover and freshen. Our food arrived promptly and was piping hot. We had no cutlery nor condiments and we're told " they were at the food station over there". There were 3 knives and 5 forks to choose from which was fine, as there were just 2 of us, and no serviettes. The meal was great value for money, tasty and hot.

The food arrived literally 5 minutes after we placed the order. However, the burger was at room temperature, and the fries had probably been prepared at least half an hour earlier. The staff were very polite and helpful and the prices were reasonable, so the place is alright for a quick drink. However, I would not recommend going there for a meal.

Tried the epic festive feasts menu today and we were not disappointed. Fantastic choice of food and beautifully prepared. Pigs in blankets starter is brilliant quality. The whole meal was a perfect example of value for money. Assistant manager ( Patrick ) was happy to help with all of our needs. 5 stars

Calm, relaxing & a delicious meal. Staff are very nice and welcoming. Ordered via Greene King app, and food/drinks came out quickly and was hot! Popped in as staying locally for a few days. But highly recommend. Thank you! 😁

The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the pub was very clean unfortunately that does not include the Ladies toilets none of the toilets had seats fitted and all the cubicles had a lot of graffiti in them a shame because the rest of the pub was well decorated the food was great and plenty of it meaning we will be going back again especially if the Ladies toilets are sorted out.
