The Cherry Tree is a beautiful 18th Century building and is still run as a traditional village pub, serving as the heart of its community. The low ceilings, oak beams and 3 open fireplaces are cosy in the winter whilst the large courtyard with giant umbrella and heaters are perfect for those warm summer evenings. We are well known in the village and surrounding areas for our diverse selection of real ales, featuring five full time Wadworth brews and further rotating guest ales.
Whether you are popping for a quiet drink, a great lunch or looking for somewhere to stay, The Cherry Tree offers a warm, homely, welcome. A superb place to spend your time whilst in the Medieval village of Steventon.

Had a wonderful last minute get together with family. Dog friendly. Would highly recommend. Staff were amazing and so welcoming! Food was delicious, cooked to perfection! First time here. Will definitely be returning.
Often pass here. Decided to stop for lunch. Both had starters. White bait - really nice. Squid - nice. Followed by Beer Battered Fish and chips with peas. Fish was amazing - very large and extremely gorgous, DELISHOUS. Peas perfect. Chips - a great fan at best of times. No room for dessert. Need to return for dessert another time. Reasonably priced.
Arrived at 6pm the lounge area bar was full of orange hi viz jacket clad people who maybe at that time should be drinking in the other bar it was difficult to get to the bar to order a drink let alone food . Discussions were choice and language the same . The staff tried to make the ambience of the room better by lighting candles etc . The food came and my chicken burger was over cooked and my husbands steak burger was salty and greasy . The menu was very limited steak burgers chicken burgers and pizzas . It is such a shame for Steventon as In the past the pubs in Steventon were very good . Unfortunately the food was below standard , we paid and left . We will not return and to be honest only went because another pub in the village were not open due to a bereavement
Very quaint little pub. They werent doing dinner when I checked in but theres plenty of other pubs around. Breakfast was nice, bed comfortable and room was clean. Nice stroll up to old church. One criticism and its not really fair as its a period building but the ceilings and door are unbelievably low. I had a cross beam across my room that was just begging to knock me out cold.
Wonderful place to stay. I tried to stay at the dog house but they were full. They kindly made some phone calls and got me a room here. It’s lovely very congenial. The room was delightful. Breakfast was awesome. There’s plenty of car parking and there’s a nice pub next-door recommended if you’re in the area and need a place to stay.
