About us

Cathouse Rock Club is Scotland’s foremost and original rock club since 1990, distinguished for leading the way in power age rock and metal for 3 decades. We are not afraid to embrace some genres you might not to expect in a traditional rock club. Times change, tastes change and we like to make sure we play a mix of tunes throughout our 3 rooms: Level 1, Level 2 & Jäger Bar. Open Wednesday – Sunday, there is most definitely a night for everyone!

Over the years, we have hosted both huge names in rock as well as smaller, more local bands. Our favourite Cathouse Rock Club performances include Anthrax; Black Stone Cherry; Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes; Pearl Jam; Bring Me the Horizon; Queens of the Stone Age; Fall Out Boy; Halestorm; Beartooth; Static X; Soil; and Shangela. Find out what gigs are on next!

As an alternative club and venue, we love to host regular alternative shows and events.

A really fun venue, great for punk gigs. It's in a really good location as well, I imagine I'd want to be here all the time if I lived in Glasgow.

Decent rock night out in Central Glasgow. Queue often means a bit of a wait but free entry with O2 Academy tickets is nice. Drinks reasonably priced, good music selection.

1st time at the Cathous tonight for the fabulous Steve n Seagulls. I wanted to give a massive shout out to the clubs staff. You guys are amazing. I have mobility issues and when I asked for a chair it was no trouble at all. Then to be moved to another part of the venue, so that we could see better and not be knocked about, was going above and beyond the call of duty. It was very much appreciated and I wanted to thank you all. You made a great gig phenomenal 🥰🤩

Ageism? The bouncer asked where we had been earlier so I said at the glasvegas gig and he refused entry on the grounds of me being drunk. But I only had 1.5 pints over 4 hours and walked 30mins to the venue. Totally spoiled our night as we were planning to stay out til closing. I cannot understand why as we were blatantly not drunk but are in our 40s. We later watched a stumbling group of teens/20 something going in! I actually looked immediately at Google for reviews of the club and it said the venue was much less busy than usual. So manager of the club you really missed out on our adult professionals' money. Shame we spent the day before touring all the rock bars and had a great night. Won't be back!

Went there to see Dream Evil ,bands were great. Staff was really nice. Its a small venue, there are seats to sit on while waiting for the next band to play, the ventilation is good . The sound system is good. The perfect place for a metal/rock show. 🤘🏼🤘🏼
