Had a lovely birthday treat here with my husband and dog, great food and drink. Room was very cosy, but quite adequate for the night. Breakfast room has stunning views over hills. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Great place for all, dogs, children and looks great for Sunday roasts, dog friendly with great walk through woods and fields. Will like to go back again and stay in another room as the Verney is very abit claustrophobic
We had our work Christmas meal here and had a lovely room to ourselves at the back, looking out onto the lights stretching into the distance (I imagine the view in the day time would be spectacular) The food was beautifully presented and delicious and the staff were super-attentive, making sure we had everything we needed and with very little notice turned an ordinary dessert into a birthday one! Would definitely recommend. Not cheap but good quality and worth the money.
Superb Sunday dinner - wonderful flavours and definitely a cut above the norm. Staff were relaxed, friendly and helpful - so clearly well-managed. Great walks straight from the door. If you're lucky, you'll get a seat in their 'conservatory', with fabulous views.
Exceptional. This is what a 5/5 food experience feels like. Beautiful view. The combination of starters, the Sunday roast, the desserts and even the coffee after; it all was just exceptional. Combination of flavours, the quality of the materials, the cosy environment, the views, the friendly service, the value for money. Loved it!
Very picturesque and busy pub/restaurant with a nice atmosphere. We were camping locally and they squeezed us in for dinner on Saturday night, with the well behaved pooch too. Of note, the car park is small and it gets filled quickly, so parking is along the road. Their local drinks were very nice (beer and their own gins) and food was great. Our group really enjoyed it so we booked for Sunday lunch the next day too. As expected, this was also really good. Waiting and bar staff very friendly and helpful. All in all great food, nice drinks, friendly staff in a lovely setting.👍🏼
