Value for money budget hotel. Victorian building with big windows and high ceilings. My room was budget but clean and comfortable. I paid for a single room but was given a double room so happy with upgrade. Bathroom was clean, soap and shampoo conditioner provided along with usual tea and coffee in the room. I've seen some bad reviews but have to say I think they are unfair. If you want the Ritz pay more! Very reasonable price For what I got, included breakfast and free car parking.

Don't expect 5 stars Ritz Hotel. Definitely recommend! 300£ for 7 nights for a double bed room. For this price you must not have many expectations. I find it very clean. This hotel is more than that I expected which for me was just a place were to put the head down. There is a bar at the hotel open till midnight. Lounge with TV and a pool table to hang after a busy day. Despite before my booking I read a lot of negative reviews I was very pleased to find that there is no accuracy in them. Is an old building which is in need to be refurbished but definitely I got moore than I paid for. Staff is very friendly and if there is need for something they are always happy to help. Don't forget, less is better, clean is a must! Highly recommended from me!!!

There are more negatives than positives with this place to be honest. Room - small, cramped, mouldy, dated bed, bedding, furniture and decor with stains all over. The bathroom was so small and barely room to move, this was also mouldy and filthy. Used items had not been removed from previous occupants. Hallways - dark and dingy, awful decor, lighting really bad. Reception - staff pleasant and helpful, nicely done decor but VERY dark. Breakfast area - bright room, nicely done decor and furniture. Breakfast itself however was lacking in so many ways, not much choice to choose from, bread and crumpets stale (god knows how many consecutive days they had been putting the same bread out). They said when we arrived there is free WiFi throughout the hotel, it only worked on the ground floor. I received a signal on the first floor but when I went to sign in the link wasn't working. Lift wasn't working, I feel sorry for anyone who would be staying on the top floor. It looks like the owners have put all their money into first impressions of the hotel and forgotten about or are ignoring guest satisfaction. This hotel has so much potential going to waste. They're website is so misleading as it shows comfort and in some cases elegance, but I can assure you that this is not the case. I'll be honest, I won't be staying there again and I highly advise anyone reading this to pay a little more and book elsewhere. How this got given 2* status is beyond me.

The hotel is well located near the sea, and we got good attention from the staff. Very, very affordable price. They don't offer much extras for the toilet (one tiny soap and one shampoo sachet per person), so don't count on those much. Note: the decoration is absolutely different on every room. Whichever picture you see of the rooms online might not reflect the one you will be staying at. Room could have been cleaner. But I guess you get what you pay for (seriously really cheap).

Very unsatisfactory visit. Lift not working, room very dated and in the need of a blitz clean. Head board in the need of a good dusting, lighting very poor not even appropriate to read a book. Appears to be a shortage of working bulbs. Lighting over bathroom and bathroom mirrors not working. Bedside lamp available but no socket available to plug it in! Beds very uncomfortable, increasing my back pain. Visited the dining room for breakfast to be met by an overwhelming smell of damp and infestation of rodents which put me off enjoying breakfast. I am still trying to understand why staff need to announce in the dining room the time they intend to finish serving breakfast apart from trying to rush customers up to get out of the dining room? Stomach churning waft throughout the building which brings the question is smoking permitted in the building. This was certainly the cherry on the cake for not recommending this hotel to friends or family or considering a return visit. Although the cost of the rooms were reasonably priced I can see why but by the end felt like I should have been paid for staying.
