Lovely little pub, warm & cosy inside & made to feel welcome as soon as we walked in.
We stopped here for a night in our camper on a whim. It's possibly the friendliest pub I've ever visited. There was a few locals in as it was just a Tuesday night, about all of them at some point acknowledged us or started a conversation about the area etc. The landlord was also super helpful telling us where we could order food from, where to go for walks and of a coffee stall outside the front of the pub in the morning (Kiwi coffee, also amazing and reasonably priced). There was a good selection of drinks and the barman clearly had some passion for cocktails. The pub was also really well decorated for Halloween which was really cool. We felt very welcome and would recommend to our friends and return again if we're in the area.
Stayed here for an overnight stop over in our Motorhome. Landlord couldn't do enough for you. You can order a Takeaway and eat it in the pub and the Breakfast was 10 out of 10! Friendly atmosphere will defernately stay again!
Excellent village pub with lots of activities going on throughout the year. Lovely beer garden to sit by the river. Well worth a visit
Today Brian welcomed me and a party of 11 cars after a car tour. We were all made very welcome after a blast of 100 miles or more and we all enjoyed an excellent breakfast. (I had a George II). The whole party were really pleased at the food and service here at the George (I had rung Brian the night before). They said so at the time and in the WhatsApp chat later. I only wish I could have sampled the beers on offer as well, but had to do the long drive home!
