Went for lunchtime meal. Excellent service, large menu. Food piping hot and good portions. Good range of beers on tap. Access to the pub along narrow lanes - well worth the find. Highly recommended
A great place where the pub is the heart of the community. Loads of character to the pub and the landlady, with great selection of beer and food that is simple but cooked fantastically. The rooms are very comfortable and with plenty of space. Again nice and simple but completely functional. Only a few miles from Cullompton where you can get all the amenities you expect from a small town this is just far enough away from the rat race to be able to unwind but get back to reality if needed! We needed somewhere that was dog friendly to stay whilst coming to visit family in Devon. We chose here as somewhere that broke up the journey but also gave us options to travel from in order to explore somewhere new and take the dog walking. A great community atmosphere and so long as you don’t want exquisite then this is a must for you to consider staying at. You will be warmly welcomed, fed well and really made to feel at home.
Excellent Sunday carvery, and a great pint. Will return. Dog friendly as well but didn't take our Springer this time.
Brilliant old English pub, very friendly staff amazing and food very good. Big car park. This is how a pub should be,it's like going back in time but with modern facilities. Rooms were unexpectedly spacious,very similar to a Premier inn. Only negative,is That the approach roads are narrow.
Very warm welcome, bigger than expected room, a massive car park. The menu is good and the food excellent, a good selection of real ales on tap. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return soon.
