Dinner was ok and stuff was friendly. But our room was a desaster! Furniture has seen better days , wifi was non exsisting. Bathroom was very moldy and dirty! For the the high price a complete no go!!!
This place delivers exactly what it advertises. This is not a posh location but a walkers inn. Muddy boots and dogs are welcome. So with that, do not expect luxury. These are simple accommodations, but it’s clean and comfortable. WiFi in the rooms (or my room) was nonexistent and no cell service, but good service in the bar area. Wolfgang is such a nice man and cares about his guests. FYI, fellow walkers stayed at the Wainstone Hotel and said it was awful and they left as early as they could. Stay at Buck Inn.
We went for a ride out and popped in for lunch.....they had completely sold out of food!! As we arrived a man immediately told us that they had no food (apart from the huge collection of cakes), so we decided to stop for a drink and come up with a plan b. There was a large selection of lagers and 3 beers. I had a nice pint of Timothy Taylor's and my husband had a lager shandy. Although we didn't eat, the welcome was warm, the pub and toilets were spotless and the menu looked very tasty! It would seem that we will have to go back to try the food 😉
Excellent place to call, has 6 to 8 German lagers on tap plus 3 taps of Timothy Taylor's, Sunday dinners very good with everything genuinely fresh , how many places give you properly cooked asparagus with Sun lunch? Remainder of menu has Germanic flavour , all food is excellent. Very popular with walkers and dogs very welcome
Quite unique country pub serving regular British fayre and popular German dishes such as schnitzel, spätzel and strong wheat bier. Very quiet when we visited midweek and food served in a timely manner by friendly staff. Dog friendly and clean toilets too.
