Popped in there last night, (Friday 19th). My wife and I had the chicken with garlic & mushroom sauce. Followed by sponge and custard for the boss and chocolate fudge cake for myself. As was mentioned in other reviews, the portions were generous. Two cups of tea later and we were both stuffed. Service was courteous but not 'distant'. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. Would certainly pop in again.
The chicken was dry. Sides were standard. Most basic of menus. I would have expected something more inventive, or at least different. On the plus side the staff were nice, punctual and funny. Why would I go here if I wasn't having a stake? (A question for the owner)
Stunning food. Service was brilliant and lovely family atmosphere. Steak was cooked perfect to request.
Great service & atmosphere supported by some pretty good grub served in quite large portions. The chicken New Yorker is a bit heavy on the BBQ sauce but they did say next time ask for the sauce in a separate jug
Hadn't been here for a few years so decided to see how the food was. We were a family of 7, service was excellent, no waiting about for drinks or food orders. The food all arrived together and was piping hot. The quality was fantastic, the steaks were cooked to perfection and the duck was absolutely stunning. Highly recommended, will definitely be visiting more often.
