Our story began in 1828 with our founder, retired cotton manufacturer, John Lees. We’re based in Middleton in the North West of Manchester and own JW Lees Brewery, JW Lees Pubs, The Alderley Edge Hotel, The Trearddur Bay Hotel and Willoughby’s Wine Merchants. We’re a sixth-generation family business which employs over 1,300 people, 140 at the brewery and site in Middleton Junction and over 1,100 in our 48 Managed Pubs, Inns and Hotels. We also let a further 100 pubs to our Pub Partners. We have pubs in Manchester closeby to our Greengate Brewery, stretching all the way to North Wales.
We’re a sixth-generation family business running warm, friendly pubs, inns and hotels. From drinks with friends to family holidays, our pubs are full of life and laughter. But let’s not forget about our famous beers and lagers that are brewed here at Greengate, the very heart of JW Lees….

A proper pub for a good pint
Went there a couple of times this week whilst working in Oldham great friendly people the landlady went above and beyond ordering me takeaways to the pub brilliant
Don't get many local traditional pubs anymore... complete with seamless lounges each flanked with v/ large TV screens, pool table, dartboard, soft leather seating, 2 slot machines, modern jukebox, outdoor seating and chilled-out moggy🐱.👍
Great British pub not sold out to mainstream modernism. Clean location, very approachable bar staff. Good ale and welcoming locals. The Bridge was once part of my Friday nights haunts before moving on to other venues such as the Spinners.
