About us

8 Sail Brewery is a local brewery for local people, with our close-knit community at the heart of everything we do. We have gone to great lengths to restore the building sympathetically and to furnish it in keeping with our heritage site location.

Located in the shadows of the unique eight-sailed windmill in the rural village of Heckington, near Sleaford, our small, independent brewery was established in 2010, when founder, Tony Pygott saw the potential in the derelict site as a home for a micro-brewery. From challenging beginnings, Tony’s vision has been rewarded with a multi-award-winning brewery and a thriving community hub.

Craft brewed in the heart of Lincolnshire, our range of cask and bottle-conditioned ales includes all styles from dark milds, pale, hoppy ales and IPAs to porters, lagers and seasonal specials.

Love this place. I've only recently discovered it and it's become a firm favourite. Heckington itself is worth turning off the A17 for, the brewery is next to the lovely railway station and in the buildings of a stunning 8 sail windmill. There's a very cosy taproom where you can enjoy a beer or several, snacks, merchandise and take some beer home. Theres also a tearoom and a garden where you can sit and relax. Absolutely worth the detour.

First time ever in the Windmill Brewery. Lovely. Situated under the only working 8 sail windmill in England. Been coming to the village for decades but never come here. Lovely staff, very friendly locals and great beer. Pint of Fenman, which is pure nectar.

Really fab place to spend a sunny afternoon. Lovely beer garden, good range of beers on tap, good food too, and very convenient for arriving by train as the station is opposite
