This placd doesnt even deserve a 1 Star Rating. Me & my friends went in last week (5th jan) for a couple of drink & was told the atmosphere is really good for a night out. They music was awful the floor was sicky, the toilets smelt & the worst thing the bar tenders got out drinks wrong not once but a few times. They need professional bar staff. They have staff that doesnt listen, its appling. Hopefully these changes will be made.
Well, what can I say, it's a dump, 9 of us went in for a drink before going for lunch, mixture of adults and kids, should have turned around really when seen the place was nearly empty but didn't so only have ourselves to blame, sat down in an area with plenty of seating as a few of us, but sat right next to a speaker which was absolutely booming with the loud music being played, which was strange as it was 1pm on a Sunday lunch, couldn't understand why really loud music was being played at that time of day, especially when the only folk in there were us, a family playing pool and 2 people sitting at the bar, we asked the bar lady if the music could be turned down a bit as was so loud you couldn't speak to one another (nightclub loud) to which she replied "well it is a pub!". Anyone who has ever been to The Bounty will know which bar lady I am talking about, as she is not very obliging to put it kindly. We did move away from the speaker but the pub has speakers everywhere so it didn't matter where you sat, the music was still ridiculously loud. Don't mind loud music at night when there's a pub full and atmosphere but not at Sunday lunch no wonder it was dead. The place is so old fashioned, it was more up to date 25 years ago, definitely need to lose the net curtains and all the dark wood and get some polite bar staff. Definitely won't be returning, bar lady done the place out of money as we might have spent more but not with the loud music going and her bad attitude we couldn't wait to get out of the place.
