Blue Boar prides itself on supplying great food, drinks and hospitality to the whole community and were a finalist in the Eastern Daily Press Good Food Awards in the "Family Friendly" category
The Blue Boar Inn offering fine food and drink and attractively priced accommodation (five en-suite rooms) is easy to find situated on the main road from Norwich to Wroxham. Just one mile from the Norwich ring road and ten minutes drive from the city centre. Under the ownership of David since 1979.
Only one Vodka available. Pizza van in carpark really good.
The rooms were old and could do with a refresh. Nearly every surface you touched seemed sticky to the touch. I suggest not booking if you wanted to eat food because they have not got the restaraunt working. The beds were extremely hard with a cheap feeling. If you need to just rest and nothing else, then you would be OK here. A shame really because it could be much better. We won't be stopping here again.
A local pub to me and one which could be very very good if they could secure a good chef. Currently food is only available but the various food vans they allow on site. Usually at the weekends and one food van at a time. I've been told if there isn't a food van then they do allow you to order a takeaway, but better to check than assume you can first. One very important positive is the selection of beer on tap, all main brands but still a good selection. It would be nice to see a few craft beers in the mix. The staff are always friendly, the garden is a very good size and great for kids and parking is plentiful.
Would of left, but had no where else to go. Room dusty, very small bed, that was so hard we didn't really sleep. Clean bed linen and towels. Furniture missed matched and damaged. Only one bedside light worked. Floor in shower room was lifting and rucking. Loose toilet seat. Maserator toilet, so noisy! Again dusty. Could hear other people clearly.
A very lovely place to stay for the night. Rooms were very clean and well kept. Extra towels, shampoo and toiletries. Rooms were also well heated and comfy. Though the bed was a tad squeaky but in all, the place was money well spent. Did I mention it was quiet and serene and the little park view from the window was good for the soul. 🤓
