Booked a table at 6.30pm on a Saturday evening and we were seated at the table as soon as we walked in. Harvey the waiter took our drinks order very quickly which was good. He then came back and took our food order in good time. Our food came promptly without much of a wait and I have to say the food was excellent. We chose steak and a bacon cheese smash burger off the menu and the chicken Kiev which was a special, I have to say there was absolutely no room for improvement as the food quality was fantastic. Emily came to take a second drink order and she was equally as knowledgeable and friendly as Harvey was. The atmosphere was great, ambience was welcoming, the staff were brilliant and the food was the best I’ve had in a while. We will return very soon
Noticed a while back this pub has reopened and decided to pop in after a day out on the way home. Best presented and enjoyable meals in a pub we have had for a long time. The sirloin steak ( med to well done) was lovely and great crispy chips, my wife had the scampi which was also good as I tried it as the portions are generous. This is now our new go to venue in West Yorkshire. I must also comment on the music volume , it was background only and if you wanted to tune your ears into it you can but otherwise , it was not noticeable, unlike so many others that force you to listen to their music. We loved that. Like to see a few more real ales on the bar and maybe one day that will come but for the decor, meal and the lagers I enjoyed, its been the best pub experience for ages for me. I found the prices reasonable also compared with other venues. Go there, I think you will like it.
Fab food, warm and welcoming staff, great atmosphere, reasonably priced. We ordered 2 steaks, a buttermilk chicken burger and a cheesy smash burger. All perfect cooked with lovely salads and scrummy chips. For dessert we had hot choc fudge cake and jam roly poly. All really nice. Service a little slow, but so friendly, the young waiter was so good and really funny and engaging. All the above plus 3 pints of bitter and a pint of cider for £94 was really good value. We also attended the pub quiz this week and it was such a laugh. We'll definitely be returning. Thanks guys. A great local with brill food. Ignore the TripAdvisor reviews, visit and make up your own mind.
The food was delicious and there was a warm atmosphere in the place. The service was a bit erratic though, possibly not helped by the people in our party. Would definitely come again.
First time we have ever been ! Was driving past and saw the car Park was full so decided to pop in for a drink . Ordered the drinks at the bar and sat down by the open fire near the TV. Picked up a menu on the way to the seats to see what was available and could not belive how reasonable the prices were ! We both Ordered the pie of the day which was steak and its was really nice . Homemade chips proper pie with big pieces of meat .. only gripe I had was that the portions were a little small but I'm a big lad so it may well be enough for most people my girlfriend thought the portions were spot on ! Two meals two large glasses of wine two pints of Guinness for 48 quid, is a bargain . Called in today new years eve for Sunday lunch .. I had the roast beef and my partners son had the turkey and it was OK.. portions decent if a little light on the meat plates cold so food goes cold quick ! Was a little disappointed especially with the 17 pounds per meal but definitely had a lot worse.
