A traditional pub with a nice homely and welcoming feel. The food offering is a short but good range of home cooked food to a good quality and portion size.
Only has one ale which varies and usually from St Austell or Exmoor breweries and could be dispensed through a hand pump but usually straight off the cask. There is a good range of keg lagers and keg ciders.
I was travelling alone and came to this lovely little pub looking for some food and a warm place to rest. It is so charming, and the staff are wonderfully friendly. I came back the second night, and both evenings I had really delicious food. The slow braised lamb fillet was the best I've ever had, and the red wine sauce was simply divine. Such a friendly, welcoming place, I'd highly reccomend a visit and that you try their yummy food if you're I the area visiting the Somerset levels and starling murmurations. Also close to Glastonbury.
This is our yearly treat when we visit Glastonbury! We love it!!! They're Sunday roasts are just glorious. Amazingly cooked meats, masses of veg (you definitely won't go hungry) and delightful service. They never compromise on friendliness, quality or quantity and are very reasonably priced! A definite visit when in the area!!! Thank you to all the staff!!! ❤️💕💖
Excellent. We eat here quite often on a Sunday. The portions are huge. Food is piping hot. We very rarely go anywhere else for Sunday lunch. My beef was cooked to perfection. The staff are very friendly. This pub is a hidden secret in the country. Recommend, but you have to book.
The place looks a little run down from the outside but do not let that put you off. The bar maid is friendly and accommodating but most importantly the food is just unbelievable. I never understood passing compliments to the chef until I visited here. Cannot recommend enough. Drooling even just remembering the food now. Free parking on site.
We nearly drove by, the exterior is a bit grim and uninviting. But we were hungry so went in and were pleasantly surprised. Welcoming, warm and a great Sunday lunch with superb vegetables. The evening menu looks interesting too so we'll be back!
