Owner's Jodi Bessell and Chris Scott have been best friends for more then 20 years. They had a vision of combining a barbering service with a sports lounge feel, which also offered live music and a wine bar vibe on an evening.
Chris' background is in hair barbering and hairdressing where he has worked in and owned barbershops and salons throughout the south west and as far afield as Brighton. Working at Glastonbury festival and then teaching the up and coming talent at Brunel college, Chris has a real eye for hair and the latest trends.
Jodi comes from a building background and then worked in the hospitality industry for over 10 years, managing front and back of house positions.
With their mutual love for live music, they decided to bring the two businesses together and create a unique venue.
BessellScotts Barbering Lounge was then born.
They are now broadening their horizons and making the move into restaurants by planning to open a Jazz Lounge and Grill Restaurant in Bedminster, Bristol in early 2023. This will be a premier venue to watch the very best of live jazz whilst being able to have a great meal at a table, which is yours for the entire evening. This concept has not been seen yet in Bristol and they feel it will really put the city on the jazz map.

Been here a total of three times now, and all three have been brilliant. Ray was brilliant, great to talk to and a great haircut to follow it up đź‘Ť.
Been coming here for about a year. Giuseppe and Ray both give great haircuts and tailor to you, providing either good conversation or quiet depending on what you prefer. It's also really handy to be able to book on the website. The place is always clean and nicely kept too. Definitely recommend.

It's great to see a bar in a new build area and it's a great idea to pair it with the bar-ber! The alcoholic slushies were a nice surprise. It's personal preference but I found the music far too loud to have a decent conversation, which affected the atmosphere and my enjoyment. We ended up going outside into the light rain. While there are benches outdoors, there's no cover for the outdoor seating. As winter weather sets in, I may have to wait until brighter days to return. The bar is dog-friendly indoors, which is always nice to see and—with different sound levels—I would definitely add an extra star; for me, sound is a major atmosphere-setter alas.
Nice little spot. 2 for ÂŁ12 cocktails and 2 for ÂŁ10 on Wednesdays. Good alcohol free selection too. Very excited for the pub quiz soon!
