Hi. We celebrated my husband Ray’s 70th birthday at this superb venue on Wednesday evening. My son and I dropped by in the afternoon to decorate the party table and leave a cake. When we all arrived in the evening, we received a very warm welcome from Chloe and was shown to our table by a lovely waitress. The service we received throughout was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were around if we needed anything. Our three courses were delicious. My son who lives and works in Hackney particularly loved his venison burger saying it was the best he had ever had. High praise indeed. The lights were dimmed and the birthday cake arrived held by Chloe. The candles all lit and decorated with Rays name iced on it. The other patrons in the restaurant all joined in with singing happy birthday. It was so perfect and will always be remembered. Thank you so much to the whole team. You have everything perfected. Very hard to find this total perfection in other venues. We will definitely be returning.
Really lovely place to stay, thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would come again without a doubt. Amazing and friendly staff both in the pub in the evening and at breakfast in the morning, a real gold star to everyone working here. Rooms were exceptionally well kept and comfy, there was a buzzing noise in our room though coming from a cupboard which meant it took a little longer to fall asleep but the coffee at breakfast was good enough to make up for it! Amazing location too and cows outside so what more could you want!
Great pub. Welcoming staff. Tasty food. Wood Fire pizzas and traditional pub menu. Brilliant atmosphere. Always greeted with a smile. Lovely beer garden in the summer and open fire in the winter. Highly recommend.
We had our wedding here and it was the absolute best! All the staff were so friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Everyone was so relaxed and happy for us that it made our day even more special. We had 34 people and we all felt so well looked after. The pub has a great atmosphere and I loved how we were able to make the area our own. We reserved all the rooms so that our friends could stay which worked perfectly with a great breakfast included the next morning. Thank you so much to all the wonderful staff and especially Carol who helped us so much with it all! We wish we could do it all over again!!
Me and my husband went to The Bell on Monday for lunch as a birthday celebration for myself. The pub itself is beautiful, cosy, inviting and the music goes perfectly with the atmosphere. We brought our young baby who was settled in nicely to one of their highchairs that actually clips to the table which was much easier. The staff were absolutely wonderful, so friendly and kind and made a fuss of our baby. We both ordered a main meal and were so so happy at what we received. The food was absolutely wonderful, all of it. The gravy I think was actually the best gravy I have ever tasted! The vegetables were cooked to perfection, everything was. Now I enjoy cooking myself and I usually find I am disappointed by the food at restaurants/pubs etc but this did not disappoint, I can honestly say it was the best meal I have had out in years if not ever! Such a wonderful experience and I will definitely be returning and recommending.
