Manchester Victoria is Manchester’s second largest mainline railway station, but with a Beer House tucked inside, we think it’s the best station in the city. Come and enjoy a pint or two in a truly gorgeous Edwardian setting.
A pub inside Manchester Victoria Station. A good place to nip in if heading in or out Manchester for the day. Fairly quiet midweek. Quite expensive. My pint of Guinness was actually, surprisingly not awful - even slightly better than O’Neillls if I’m being honest. Not a bad place to call in.
Lovely interior to the place. Must go into to experience the decor. Useful for if you only have a short wait for the next train. Cask very pricey for basic beer. Not somewhere I would seek to have a pint in again anytime soon.
Very nice & convenient location 🙂 to shelter from the bad weather while waiting for your train but incredibly expensive: large glass of Pinot Grigio wine £9.49. Bottle of lager £6.00.
After the joy of the new Victoria Tap we crossed the concourse to see if the old buffet bar had started selling real ale again. It did, so Albrecht had a pint of Wainwright Gold...£5.95! Missus had a small 125ml Pinot..£7.09. We queried the cost and were told it was upmarket city centre prices. Neither drink was very good. This is a place travellers while away time, not a destination venue. They do offers later in the day, probably cashing in on the next door Arena crowds who probably keep this place going. Will not be back at these prices but Arena guests will fill it.
Had a quick drink whilst meeting friends before heading off to “I Should be so Lucky” at the Opera House… and we were so lucky to be served by the lovely Sophie who was friendly, courteous and professional. Great service, with a smile! Thanks so much xx
