Great pub, lovely meals. The chair I sat on was on its last legs. The arm was falling off. Service was good , prices were acceptable al bar a hot squash, yes, hot squash which I was charged £3.10 for, I'm not saying daylight robbery but the person serving should have been wearing a mask! We're all in Business to make money but, wow. Overall a lovely pub for friends and family looking for decent food and a walk over Milford Common / Cannock Chase. And there is a play barn attached to the back of the pub for little ones, a big win. Parking is free for customers, it's another one of those where you have to put your registration in folks.

Average pub fare with table service lacking attention to detail. I would recommend the Barley Mow for a casual dining experience. Celebratory / special occasion meals I would not recommend. Our group of 5 adults was at the Barley Mow for the lunch time and we picked dishes from the lunch time menu. The restaurant was moderately busy with lots of empty tables. Table service was prompt and courteous and the staff seemed familiar with the menu. We ordered fish & chips with mushy peas x 2, veggie pie x 2 and gammon x 1. The veggie pie crust was very dry and insufficient gravy was served in a very small 'mini' saucepan - cute but not enough sauce for a pie of this size. We did not ask for more gravy since the pie was not going to eaten anyway. The fish & chips were requested with mushy peas ( both servings ) and were bought to the table with garden peas. Not a deal breaker but not what we ordered either - when we approached the server ( note, they do not come to the table following food delivery to check up things are okay ) asking if it was still possible to have mushy peas as ordered & it did take more than 10 minutes for the mushy peas to be brought to us by which time we had almost eaten our food - and it was only one pot of mushy peas! I did not leave the table twice to ask the server for the missing pot. My sister said the gammon was very nice. We ordered one pudding - apple pie which was nice. Overall, mediocre food, table service lacking some finer touches ( get the order right, return to the diners to see if folk are happy ) but the staff were genuinely polite and seemed eager to make us feel welcome. A nice, easy atmosphere too. Just not great food.

My experience here was excellent. The food was great and delicious. The atmosphere was fun and the service incomparable. I’m currently on vacation from the US and I was recommended to try barrel beer. I enjoyed it a lot with a double espresso. The waitress was patient and amazing. I wish I had asked her for her name but shout out to her! Will definitely be back next time I’m in the UK, sooner than later.

This place has certainly improved since I was last in, which admittedly was a few years back. Yes, it's a chain pub, but the food has lost its "ping it" chain pub feel. We were really impressed. Great location for post walk beers too. The only downside for me is the size, which means it's not so cosy....but it does mean that you can generally get a table.

Great place to have breakfast. Nice friendly staff, big car park and nice decor inside. The place is open from 9am and serves a good selection of breakfast. I had the steak and eggs today. They didn't have the asparagus so asked me what I wanted instead. Nice pan fried mushrooms were a lovely substitute. I also ordered the sourdough toasted which I think is a great accompaniment. The rump steak was medium rare, busy l as like it. The fried eggs could have been done for a another 30 sec but that's me being fussy. The potato rostied were divine and up there with the best I have had. Nicely crisp on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. Overall a nice hearty breakfast to start the day with. So if you fancy a nice breakfast or catch up with friends in the am, it's a place I will highly recommend for a visit.
