Christmas dinner will give 8/10 Food good but with a few extra touches and care that cost nothing, it could reach 10/10 .

Stayed here out of season. Had the bridal room which was nice and spacious. Owner was lovely, food was ok. Had issues with The heating but once told the owner it was sorted with a little pressure check. Hand6 location for what we wanted. Good value as we booked last minute. Cosy bar area.

Great little cosy place. Might be a little short staffed but if you call in advance and let them know when you will arrive they will arrange everything for you. The room (4) was quite spacious and really clean, also it was well furnished and had a vintage vibe to it.

There was no staff when we arrived. Not one single person. If it weren't for two other guests who had to check themselves in, we would have had no idea what to do. There was NO STAFF the entire time we were here. NO RESTAURANT EMPLOYEES, NO FOOD, NO DRINKS, NO SERVICE! Bring your own shampoo ... none supplied! Better yet, BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE We were not informed that there would be no staff prior to arriving, nor were we informed when we booked.

Booked 2 nights in the Superior Delux Bridal Room. Online boasts about underfloor heating, memory foam bed, a spa tub and bathrobes and slippers. Upon checking in, the 'manager' was far more interested in trying to up sell breakfast than actually advising the hotel rules. He neglected to inform us that we have to specifically request the day before to have the room freshened up. There is no one on site until the restaurant opens at 16:30 so I was not happy about the fact that I had to clean the tub myself, with crutches because of all the black stuff from the jet pipes had settled in the bath. The room itself was OK at best, it's the off season so only the absolute bear minimum is done. Cobwebs all over the place, broken light fixtures and missing bulbs. There are cracks throughout the skirting board and alcoves and the side of the bath was completely detached. The caulking around the bath looked black and mouldy. Most of the mirrored furniture had cracks in it. The place was absolutely freezing because the underfloor heating wasn't turned on, my partner had to mess around in the cupboard to get the hot water working as it also wasn't turned on. The offered bathrobes and slippers were 2 small, scratchy towels. The memory foam mattress was so soft uncomfortable with springs sticking into my back throughout the night. There is no check out. The only person on site when you leave is the room cleaner. I had to phone the manager to make my complaints and his attitude was disgusting. Ready for an argument. Hindsight, I should have properly read through the reviews of this place because it is quite clear that management just does not care. If you've booked for a wedding, they care because of how much money you're spending but in the off season, they do not care about their customers. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to be able to actually view their bookings online and see just how empty the place is. Not to mention the fact that they think it's appropriate to call a customer at 9pm at night. I've spent plenty of time within the hospitality industry, don't call a customer at that time of night. I wanted to cancel the booking after that because I had a bad feeling about this place, but my partner insisted we still stay. I regret that decision. What was supposed to be a relaxing getaway was anything but.
